2-11 What is the load factor of an air compressor?

Load factor is the ratio of avg. output to max. rated output of an air compressor. To avoid pressure drop when adding tools or leaks, it's recommended to use a load factor of 0.9 or 0.8 to calculate the max. gas volume required.

Answer: The load factor refers to the ratio of the average output of an air compressor over a period of time to the maximum rated output of the air compressor. When the air compressor purchased by the user just meets the user's maximum needs, adding one or more tools or leaks will cause the pressure of the factory to drop. In order to avoid this situation, it is recommended to use the load factor, take the maximum value of the gas volume required by the user's system, and divide it by a load factor of 0.9 or 0.8 (or any safety factor considered by the user).
