Answer: After the air compressor cooler is used for a long time, bicarbonate substances such as calcium and magnesium in the cooler water will form scale in it. The scale will affect the normal heat transfer of the cooler, increase the inlet and exhaust temperatures of the air compressor, and the air cannot be cooled to the predetermined temperature, affecting the quality of the compressed air and even affecting safe operation. Therefore, a plan for regular cleaning of scale should be formulated according to the specific situation.

There are two ways to clean scale: one is the mechanical method, that is, the physical removal method; the other is the chemical method.

The mechanical method uses an extended handle brush to drag back and forth in the pipe to eliminate the scale in the pipe, and a high-pressure water gun can also be used to flush the copper pipe.

The chemical method is to dissolve the scale with dilute hydrochloric acid based on the characteristics that scale is generally an alkaline substance. However, the acid content cannot be too high, otherwise it will corrode the metal. The specific cleaning method is: first make a dilute hydrochloric acid solution, add 5~10kg of hydrochloric acid into 100kg of water, place the dilute hydrochloric acid tank at the bottom of the cooler, connect a leather hose to a small water pump at the bottom, and the water pump and the cleaned cooler channel form a loop circulation. After the water pump is started, use a dilute hydrochloric acid solution for circulation cleaning, generally cleaning for about 6 hours. If it is cleaned in winter, the solution can be heated to 70~80℃ to speed up the cleaning speed and improve the cleaning effect. After cleaning with dilute hydrochloric acid solution, drain the liquid and then rinse with clean water. In order to prevent acid corrosion, use 5% soda solution for circulation cleaning for 10 minutes, and finally rinse with clean water.
